The changes to the ChrisTrains back-end webshop has finally happened - the actual site where you download your products (getDPD.com). Many of you will be familiar with seeing the 'download expired' button and needing to submit a ticket to me to get downloads re-activated. This has now changed because getDPD has introduced a new device-based system. The authorization system is per-account, not per-purchase.

TO USE THE NEW SYSTEM:
Go to the 'my downloads' link on the ChrisTrains help/support page
Enter the email address used for your purchase(s).
A verification code will be sent to your email address.
Enter that verification code on the portal page.
You should now be able to see all your past purchases without me having to send you a new purchase email.
 

Details: The verification code sent to your email address is used to store the authorization token (a cookie) to your browser. This happens seamlessly in the background. From then on, you will have access to that purchase and all your other downloads from your customer portal. 
A "device" is considered to be a combination of browser and machine. For example Chrome + desktop = 1 device. Firefox + laptop = 1 device. Each "device" is stored in your customer profile and only authorized devices will be able to download the products. This means if you want to download the product on a laptop and a desktop, you need to authorize both machines.
For privacy purposes, the only information stored on your machine will be the session tracking cookie in your browser. A hardware 'fingerprint' of each machine is stored by getDPD in your customer profile in order to be able to uniquely identify each "device".

De veranderingen aan de back-end webshop van ChrisTrains is eindelijk gereed - de eigenlijke site waar u uw producten downloadt (getDPD.com). Velen van jullie zullen bekend zijn met het zien van de 'download verlopen/download expired' knop en moeten een ondersteuningsverzoek naar mij sturen om downloads opnieuw geactiveerd te krijgen. Dit is nu veranderen want getDPD heeft een nieuw, op apparaten gebaseerd systeem introduceert. Het autorisatiesysteem is per account, niet per aankoop.

OM HET NIEUWE SYSTEEM TE GEBRUIKEN:
Ga naar de 'mijn aankopen' link op de ChrisTrains hulp/support pagina.
Toets in het email adres dat gebruikt was voor de oorspronkelijk aankoop/aankopen.
Er wordt een verificatiecode naar uw e-mailadres verzonden.
Toets deze code in het balk bij de login pagina.
U zou nu al uw eerdere aankopen kunnen zien zonder dat ik u een nieuwe aankoopmail zou moeten sturen.
 

Details: De verificatiecode die naar uw e-mailadres is verzonden is gebruikt om de autorisatie token (een cookie) in uw browser op te slaan. Dit gebeurt naadloos op de achtergrond. Vanaf dat moment heeft u in uw klantenportal toegang tot die aankoop en al uw andere downloads.

Een combinatie van browser en machine wordt beschouwd als een "apparaat". Bijvoorbeeld Chrome + desktop PC = 1 apparaat. Firefox + laptop = 1 apparaat. Elk 'apparaat' wordt opgeslagen in uw klantenprofiel en alleen geautoriseerde apparaten kunnen de producten downloaden. Dit betekent dat als u het product op een laptop en een desktop wilt downloaden, u beide machines moet autoriseren.
Om privacyredenen is de enige informatie die op uw machine wordt opgeslagen de cookie voor het bijhouden van sessies in uw browser. Een hardware 'vingerafdruk' van elke machine wordt door getDPD opgeslagen in uw klantprofiel om elk uniek "apparaat" te kunnen identificeren.
